| Battle Hymn of the Republic |
arr.
by David Townsley |
This songs begins as a respectful,
solemn march. As the march progresses, it adds countermelodies,
showcases the brass family (parts are cued), and grows larger
and more majestic into the grand ending. |

| Brethern We Have Met To Worship |
arr.
by David Townsley |
Following a pensive opening, the first trumpet introduces
the melody, reflecting Christians making their way to the camp meeting.
The second variation, using a modal melody, depicts the sinners,
who under conviction, come to the meeting for salvation. The
third movement tells the new joy the community finds in Christ.
In this movement, the trumpets take the melody, accompanied by rhythmic
chords from the orchestra. This movement is more challenging
because it changes key to concert B flat, two flats. At the
finale, the chords sweep upward for a classical-style ending.

| Come, Christian Join to Sing |
arr.
by David Townsley |
| This theme and variations arrangement opens with a
majestic brass fanfare with orchestral accompaniment. In the
first variation, the woodwinds (cues for strings and low brass)
play an augmented melody. In the second variation, the violins
(cued for flute and clarinet) introduce a countermelody preparing
the scene for the cello (cued trmb. and bass cl.) to take the melody.
In the last variation, the bass instruments play the call, while
the treble instruments answer. |

| Count Your Blessings |
arr.
by David Townsley |
Count away your troubles with this
arrangement. The opening "counts" up to the melody,
adding one note at a time. The trumpets take the melody on the
chorus, accompanied by a happy polka sound from the orchestra.
Each instrument family takes their turn with the next verse (all
cued). This returns us the the polka sound on the chorus. This
is sure to lighten the hearts of your listeners! |

| Like a River Glorious |
arr. by David
Townsley |
| Can you hear the river in this sound poem about God's
peace? The rain drops fall, depicted by pizzicato playing in the
strings. Our river grows with the legato phrases in the clarinets.
Other instruments join in as quickening tempos and broadening rhythms
bring our river to a powerful crescendo. Our river reaches its goal
with smooth, peaceful playing from the brass. Take your listeners
on a descriptive journey with this well-known hymn. |

| Rescue the Perishing |
arr.
by David Townsley |
Enlarge your world vision with this evangelistic march.
It begins with a bass ostinato that builds into a sweeping crescendo.
The woodwinds and strings express the melody in their way, answered
by the brass and bass instruments on the chorus. Another long crescendo
brings us to the second verse, powered by the bass instruments.
The familiar bass line returns, bringing us to the dramatic ending.
While being melodic and expressive, this is our most accessible
arrangement. |

| Revive Us Again |
arr.
by David Townsley |
| This arrangement develops the "Hallelujah"
idea from this hymn's chorus. The opening's jubilant hallelujahs
lead into the two verses from the trombone and cello. Several
variations of the chorus follow including one rhythmic variation.
The development brings us back to the opening hallelujahs. Bright
and joyful. |

| The Solid Rock |
arr.
by David Townsley |
| This descriptive ABA piece start begins with a grand
flourish. This leads into the full orchestra on the verse. The chorus
ends with the sinking sand, bringing us into the minor second verse,
"When darkness veils His lovely Face..." In this section,
some parts have a concert A flat. The following developing section
leads us into the majestic third verse, "When He shall come
with trumpet sound." This arrangement is so descriptive , just
give your audience the words and they can follow along |

| To God Be the Glory |
arr. by David Townsley |
Alto Sax, F horn, Trombone, and Viola take the melody
in the beginning and ending accompanied strong chords from the orchestra.
The woodwinds and string families (all cued) each take a turn until
the chorus returns again. Here the trumpets and F horn (cued) take
the spotlight in a short round pattern. This leads into a short
development section which returns us to our opening idea for a dramatic
closing. This arrangement is powerful! |

| When I Can Read My Title Clear |
arr.
by David Townsley |
| After this theme's original statement, an original
melody is introduced. Then both melodies are played simultaneously.
The next development is a round-like treatment of the first melody.
In the last variation, the bass takes the first melody, the middle
voices take the countermelody and the highest voices play an active
ornamental part. With hints to the round section, the arrangement
comes to a powerful close. |
